Last night was crazy and yesterday in general was just a crazy day that I will probably never forget. First of all a terrorist attack took place in the United States and the World Trade Center was blown up with two airplanes.
Even crazier than this, stupid Americans got scared about how some services in the United States got shut down for the day. I can see why gas prices went up where the planes crashed, but to get scared across the nation about higher gas prices over a plane crash ticks me off. Basically prices were raised because of the fear of a shortage and not an actual shortage.
Last night when I was visiting some friends house and fixing a computer, one of them got a call on her cell phone and she was told that people across the nation were making a run on the gas stations and gas prices had gone up.
First of all there was no reason other than crazy people for gas prices to go up. I guess in some parts of the country prices had doubled for no apparent reason. Supply and demand cause the price to go up and just because of the terrorist attack there is no reason for an oil shortage. So once I heard about this I went to my car and we filled up our tanks just for the chance that prices would go up because of this artificial demand.
So I went to the gas station and there were only 3 cars in front of me when I pulled in. I went to call my mom and dad to warn them about the stupid scare so they could take part of this stupid scare. So I went and filled up my tank and when I was done I couldn't even pull out of the gas station. Cars were parked on the street waiting for their turn to get gas because everyone heard that gas prices were going up.
So when I went to work this morning I felt sort of stupid for the fact that gas prices did not go up and I had the rest of my family participate in this gas price scare.
But then in some parts of the country prices did double last night. As my bother Nathan said to me in an email, "The people who run gas stations are a bunch of thieves for doubling their gas prices"
