Driving Over My Lawn

What unfortunate luck I do have with my car, but then I guess I am fortunate. I actually think that my car just likes to stress me out.

The reason I think this is that I almost got in another car wreck. I was driving home having a nice little drive on the black ice that was on the streets. I saw another car coming to the intersection and they thought they had the right of way. On the intersection near my home there is no clear indication which street has the right of way. There are no yield signs there.

So as we were both coming to the intersection at normal speeds.  I knew that we were going to hit if we both slammed on our brakes.  My reaction instead of braking was to keep going the same speed and to try and turn into the direction that they were going. So I turned left and the other car slammed on their brakes hopping to stop. Their tires locked up and the were then depending on what friction there was with the ice on the streets, and I kept going left hoping to put a little more distance between us so that they would have more time to stop. A few seconds later we were ok and no one was hurt.

My decision saved me from another car wreck. I talked to the people once I turned around and they said that we missed by only inches. I said hello to them and said it was good to meet them and I said, "I hope I don't meet you this way again". We all said bye and we then went our separate ways.
