Blast-O-Butter

The other day when I was at work I told someone that I would never pop popcorn again. I hate popcorn for the fact that no matter what I do, somehow I seem to mess up the popcorn. So I usually just try to have someone else pop it so that I don’t have to have that one little stress in my life.

When I told a friend at work that I refused to pop the bag of popcorn that she gave me, she laughed and told me that I was just crazy and that there was no way I could mess up the bag of popcorn if I followed her instructions. So I took her word on it and I followed her instructions and what did I do… I messed up the bag of popcorn and only popped half the bag.

When I took the half bag of popcorn to my desk, she just laughed and told me that I should just have left it in the microwave just a little longer. I told her that if I would have done that, the bag of popcorn would have burnt.

So a few weeks later I was starving at work and I had another bag of Blast-O-Butter and I thought it would be a nice little treat. This time I followed my friend’s instructions again (Jennifer Bonnett) and what happened, well, you will probably think that I burnt the bag of popcorn, and I did. I waited for about 3 seconds between pops and I immediately took the bag out of the microwave. The problem with this batch is that it only popped half the kernels and the half that did pop was burnt.

So my savory treat was not edible that day. I ended up eating some Pharmanex health bars, which quickly destroyed my hunger, due to the fact that those health bars make you healthy and skinny because you can’t eat many of them in a week’s time. Hopefully I will get off this learning curve for popping popcorn here soon so that I don’t burn or under pop too many bags of popcorn.

I don’t know what it is, but I can never cook a bag of popcorn. I think this is one of the simple skills in life that I will never achieve.
