Church Ball

Every Thursday night I think about my parents and wonder if some of the genes that they passed onto me were a blessing or a curse. Of course I never really overheat due to this problem, but then I hear comments like, “Oh gross, you are soaking wet”.

On Thursday nights I play basketball with my ward at night for 2 hours. Honestly, I really don’t think that anyone else there even knows how to sweat. It is unfortunate for me to say that I actually go to the games now with 2 changes of shirts due to my body’s ability to push water through my skin.

Last week when playing basketball, I was a total slob and people were commenting how sweaty I was. So this week I came prepared with 2 extra shirts so that I would not have to hear this again. I don’t want to be known as the sweaty guy.

To my unfortunate luck, I used all three shirts and I needed a fourth. After each time that I noticed that my shirt was getting wet I changed my shirt. I was hoping that three shirts would be enough to allow some drying time. And was I wrong. I went to change into one of my shirts I changed out of and it seemed to be as wet as the one I was already wearing. So I had to finish the game in that shirt.

As the minutes passed, my shirt became wetter and more people started to mention that I my shirt was soaked when they were playing against me. I need to do something to be remembered as instead of the sweaty guy. Oh, I don’t have to really worry about that. I think that my casualty at the end of the game when I ran into the wall and about broke my arm will make them forget or help them realize that I am so sweaty for a reason. It is because I am trying so hard to do a good job.

Oh well, I am not really just coming to realization that I am a ball of sweat when playing sports. I just needed to express my feelings. Now that I have done that, I am going to go clean my arm up where some skin is missing from running into the hard carpet wall in the church building.
