Window Watching

In the dark recesses of your room, someone may be hiding. Do you really know if you are ever alone? Someone might be right by you and you will not know until it is too late. Before you know it, someone like Steven will jump out of the shadows and scare you half to death. That is actually what my roommates friends will be thinking the next time they come and visit.

Tonight when these two girls came over to my hose to visit my roommate Matt, they were tickling him and they were making a lot of noise in his room at about 2 am. I could hear my roommate calling my name once in a while and I usually go just to humor him.

Instead of going to his room to save him from these two girls, I decided to go to my room and change my clothing so that I would be wearing all black. I put on a dark hat and some gloves and then went outside to his window. I knew that the window was open because before deciding to go change into black clothing, I heard him open his window. So I was planning on reaching through the blinds and yelling to scare the three of them a bit.

When I got outside the window I saw that the screen was not securely in place. I tried to pull off the screen while they were wrestling in the room and make no noise, but the screen was not coming off easily. After about five minutes there, I decided to make my move. I pushed on the screen on the window, knocking it off and I made a hissing noise. I thought that they were making a lot of noise already.

After they calmed down and when I lost interest in talking with them I told them goodnight when upstairs and just made the normal noise that someone makes when walking around. I made sure I made a little extra to make them know I was inside. Soon after this I went back outside and crept up to the open window with no screen. The bedroom window is at ground level so there is about a foot of wall before you get to the window. In that area below the open window I just was on the ground on my back looking at the window. I waited there until I knew one of them would be up near the window. When I saw a hand poke out, I sat up and made some noise. Her reaction was a hand in my face and her jumping backwards off of the bed and landing on the floor.

I knew that if I left again, they would be expecting me to attack again. So I decided to really go to bed and get some sleep for the night. When I was leaving, my roommate was outside with me and one of the girls was working her way out the window. I figured that the other girl was going to climb out too. So instead of going upstairs and going to bed, I decided to go downstairs to my roommate’s room and go inside the room so that when they came back in, I would scare them there.

In the corner of my roommate’s room, there is a small chair that had a blanket over its back. When I was in position with the blanket over my head and over the short chair, I sat there until they returned. Unfortunately, the girls went home. Fortunately my roommate was not expecting me being there. Matt sat on his bed because it was about 3am at this point and then I sprang from my hiding position.

He jumped really bad and he thought it was funny. I told him that from this point on he could never consider himself safe. I warned him that in the dark recesses of his room I might be hiding. He was warned that he could be anywhere and I would be upon him and he would not know it until it is too late. He knows that a man named Steven may be jumping out of the shadows to scare him half to death.

The next day at church, I was talking to my neighbor who we woke up that night and I told him I was sorry that there was so much noise. Someone overheard me talking about it and they said they were woken up that night by some screaming. The funny part is that they live about 6 houses down, so I think the girls screaming woke up the whole neighborhood.
