A Dating Story

On Wednesday night I was making some phone calls trying to find someone to go on a date with me Friday night. My roommate Ben and I keep saying that we are going to double and go do something. We finally broke down and found some dates. This attempt was one of my success stories because I did not have to go through more than 5 rejections.

Girl # 1
I went over to my friend’s house and started talking to her. After about 30 minutes of talking she asked me if I was going to a party that someone is throwing on Friday night. I told her no because I had plans. I asked her if she was going and she said no because she has plans already, she was going on a blind date. During this conversation my roommate Ben called me saying that he found a date and asked me if I had a date and I told him no. Girl # 1 overheard this conversation and after the phone call was over, asked me about it and wondered who I was going to ask out. So I told her that I was going to ask her to go with me, and she thought it was a joke. It took a minute or so to convince her that I was being serious and wanted to do something with her. She was a little embarrassed and all this made denial #1 a little entertaining.

Girl # 2
I called her up on the phone and started talking to her. I asked her if she was available to go to dinner and do something on Friday night. She told me she could go but was busy at 7pm because she was playing the guitar for the party that was happening of Friday. We were planning on going to dinner at 7 so she was my second denial. She did say that we should go play another time, and I think I will try because she is a really cool girl.

Girl # 3
I called her and asked her if she was available, and she was going to Idaho that day. I called her because she called me a few weeks earlier and wanted to try and do something. I am not really interested in her, but I think she is a good friend. We met a few years back during the Olympics when I was helping out with the NuSkin’s Mascot.

Girl # 4
I called up this girl and asked for her. Her roommate was on the phone and asked me to call back. I said I would call back in 20 minutes.

Girl # 5
I decided to ask out girl # 5 and decided to not ask out Girl # 4. Girl # 5 is the roommate of Girl # 4. I actually think that Girl # 5 was the girl talking on the phone when I called that house the first time. I was a little hesitant on asking this girl out because she recently broke up with a long term boyfriend and I was not certain it was completely over. Also I have not really spoken to her for a long time. I was also a little hesitant because I just called a few minutes earlier asking for her roommate. But I have always wanted to ask her out but I have not because she has so many guys going over that it is annoying. Anyways I called her and asked her if she was available to go out to dinner at 7pm she was a little hesitant on going because she had some tentative plans at 7, so she asked if we could go at 7:30pm. So I finally got a date and with someone I really think is an amazing person.

If this last girl would have been busy, I don’t know what I would have done. I could have called back the house and asked for her roommate, but I think I would have felt weird. Also, I had nobody else in mind that I really felt interested in getting to know better.

Dating is such a hassle.

This concludes another chapter in my dating life.
